Tutorial: How to Use a PIN-debit Pad

When using your Axcess America® Prepaid MasterCard®, you will see pads like this one at the checkout at grocery, pharmacy, and convenience stores, as well as some chains like WalMart and Kohl's. Please keep in mind that the PIN-debit pad you will use may not look exactly like the one pictured here. Don't worry; they all work basically the same. If you need a little help, the cashier will be able to assist you.
 Tutorial: How to Use a PIN-debit Pad
To make a PIN-debit transaction*:
Step 1:
Swipe your card.
Step 2:
Select 'Debit'.
Step 3:
Type in your 4-digit PIN number and press 'Enter'.
Step 4:
If the store offers you the option, you may be able to get cash back. If you would like to use this option, choose 'Yes', otherwise, choose 'No'.
Note:
Not all stores offer the option to get cash back.
Step 5 :
If you are getting cash back, select the amount you wish to have withdrawn from your account and hit 'Enter'.
Step 6:
If you make a mistake, just press 'Cancel' and start over.
Step 7:
The cashier will hand you your receipt and your cash (if you choose that option).
*You can do this with either the Axcess America® Maestro® or the Prepaid MasterCard®.


Here is another variation of a PIN-debit pad. This one gives you the ability to make a signature-based transaction and sign on the screen instead of on a receipt. Other than that, It is used the same way as the one above.

Signature-based transaction
To make a signature-based transaction†:
Step 1:
Swipe your card.
Step 2:
Select 'Credit'.
Step 3:
If you make a mistake, just press 'Cancel' and start over.
Step 4:
The cashier will either hand you a receipt to sign or you may be asked to sign the screen with the pen provided.
†You can only do this with an Axcess America Prepaid MasterCard.
